Racks & Rails Rendezvous
With the fabulous Nicole Bessick
Nicole Bessick is undeniably one of the most loved personalities around. She oozes confidence, intellect, wit, determination and doesn’t fall short in the beauty department either! This stunner came into our lives while she was still at UCT finishing off her studies and nowadays is winning hearts as a popular face on our favourite soapies. We had the opportunity to have a quick catch up with this beaute and had to clarify some pressing (yet classic) Racks & Rails Rendezvous questions. Enjoy!
So here it is....
1. 5 things you can’t live without?
My day planner! I've been trying to keep as close to "business as usual" as the lockdown will allow. I'm trying to stay as productive as possible... planning my days, making to-do lists and priotizing my tasks!
"Work clothes": Ofcourse, these are a lot more comfy than what I'd wear when heading to set or entertainment commitments. Each morning, I ditch my pajamas and get ready for work as I would on any other regular day! Getting too comfortable will negatively impact your productivity and motivation.
2 litre cooldrink bottles filled with sand: Staying active releases lots of feel-good endorphins, which is so important during this time. I fill empty cooldrink or detergent bottles with sand and use them as weights during my daily at-home workouts.
My television: There's nothing like getting lost in a really great movie or series!
My credit card: Two words... ONLINE SHOPPING!
2. one thing lockdown has taught you?
Social isolation can be really difficult! It has an impact on everyone’s wellbeing and mental health, especially those who are in isolation on their own. One thing lockdown has reminded me of is the importance of spreading the love and staying bonded with your loved ones! My daily video chats with my friends and family are keeping me sane and fueled.
3. Favourite fashion brand?
Sassy Chic! Great quality local pieces at affordable prices... I'm all about it!
4. One thing you are obsessing about right now?
Home-cooked meals! I'm cranking out dishes that would make Jamie Oliver proud!
5. The last thing you googled?
"How to make your own alcohol at home"... yes, really!
6. Favourite book?
Ask and It is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
7. Favourite quote you live by?
Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you would do, long after the mood you said it in has left you.
8. And finish the sentence “to have style is to...”
To have style is to march to the beat of your own drum... and to march to that beat in a fabulous pair of heels!
